I have a Merc Black Max 150 on a bullet ski boat and I'm not sure about checking the fluid level in the tilt

Question Details
As the manual states that you should tilt the motor completely up before opening the cap, only problem is I can't extend the motor completely up to engage the motor bracket into the locked position, due to the hull design..I was wondering if I tilted the motor to it's highest point, braced it taking weight/pressure off it would this work?? Worst case scenario ( i think ??) would be getting a face full of oil as the unit is pressurised...Can anyone suggest anything different please or offer advice ??

You are going to have to hang the motor, unbolt the motor from the transom, then you should be able to extend the trim fully. if your trim is going up and down ok, no jerky-jerky, the fluid level is probably ok
